A Social Committee Full of Ideas and Energy for Action

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Social Committee and the project team. The discussions focused, among other things, on preparations for the official launch of the project, a summary of the first participatory activities, and developing forms of cooperation for the next stages of the project.

The most inspiring part of the meeting was the workshop, during which Committee members shared their experience, ideas and willingness to take action. Participants highlighted the contribution they could make to the project, including extensive community networks, experience in working with young people and senior citizens, organisational skills, promotional support through social media, as well as knowledge and experience in environmental education, volunteering and public consultation.

There were also specific declarations of involvement. Committee members expressed their willingness to support the promotion of the project among young people, participate in consultation activities, organise environmental and intergenerational initiatives, and co-create events and activities for local residents. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between different communities and organisations operating in Ostrołęka and the surrounding area.

The discussion showed that participants want to have a genuine impact on the implementation of the project. They highlighted the need to work in task groups, clearly divide responsibilities and ensure an ongoing exchange of information. They also expressed their readiness to undertake specific activities, provided that these are well planned and respond to the actual needs of young residents.

The meeting resulted in further arrangements concerning the schedule of activities, the preparation of promotional materials and the establishment of task groups, which will make it possible to make even better use of the potential and skills of Committee members.

The May meeting showed that the Social Committee is not only an advisory body, but above all a group of committed people who want to actively co-create the “Ostrołęka – Young People at the Centre” project, implemented as part of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.
